Junior Dukes Fastpitch Softball is a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit organization in the state of Wisconsin.  The organization if focused on providing youth girls in Whitefish Bay and surrounding areas with a positive competitive or recreational softball experience.

Junior Dukes Fastpitch Softball offers TWO levels of the program - recreational and academy.  Recreational teams play a shorter, less intense season with minimal weekend commitments.  Academy teams play 25-30 games, including weekend tournaments, and have 30-40 practices during a longer season.  Academy teams have required fall/winter skill development sessions as well.

Players will select their intentions to tryout for recreational or academy at time of pre-registration for tryouts.  Players who do not make academy teams will be placed on recreational teams.

Age division eligibility for 2024 team tryouts is based on player's age as of January 1, 2024.  Click here for an age calculator to determine your daughter's age division.

Recreational Season Summary:

• Recreational season runs April 1 to late June/early July (except U8 starts March 1 indoors).
• Available for girls ages 6 to 14.
• Recreational weeknight league games late April or early May to late June or early July. Total of 12-15 games.
• One practice per week starting April 1 to June 30
• Minimal weekend requirements
• Zero off-season requirements (between July and March), but training is available for those who seek it (at an additional cost)
• New players welcome!
• Flexibility for players to do multiple spring/summer sports.
• Teams will exist at U8 (combined 6,7,8 year olds); U10 (combined 9,10 year olds); U12 (combined 11,12 year olds); U14 (combined 13,14 year olds).
• Estimated 15 total games and 15 total practices.
• All players will tryout since teams are selected in a draft, so that teams are made evenly.

Academy Season Summary:

• Academy in-season runs March 1 to July 31.  
• Available for girls ages 9 to 14.
• Competitive weeknight league games mid-May to late July. Total of 12-15 games.
• Two practices per week (two hours each practice) starting March 1 to July 31
• Up to four weekend tournaments between May and July
• Participation in off-season training for a minimum of one skill area (pitching, catching, hitting) is strongly encouraged (attendance is tracked).  Training is offered in September and October.
• Previous playing experience is required
• Players required to be primarily committed to softball over all other spring/summer activities (softball usually gets priority when conflicts exist)
• One team will exist at each level of U10 (combined 9,10 year olds); U12 (combined 11,12 year olds); U14 (combined 13,14 year olds).
• Estimated 25-30 total games and 30-40 total practices.
• All players will tryout since teams are selected based on skill, ability, coachability, and previous commitment to JDFS.
